"I want to paint like an armchair that heals people," he said.
From the time he met Picasso, his colors changed in a bold direction. Partly because of his physical condition, in his later years he made cutouts using only scissors and paper.
Also, he made the stained glass of the Rosary Chapel in the south of France.
There are photos showing the work process, and it was nice to see the situation at the time.

アンリ・マティスの柔らかな絵達。
「人々を癒す肘掛け椅子のような絵を描きたい」と本人が語っていたらしい。
ピカソと出会った頃からは、色彩が大胆な方向へ変化していった。体調の事もあり、晩年はハサミと紙のみで切り絵制作をしたそう。
そして、南フランスにあるロザリオ礼拝堂のステンドグラスを作り上げた。
その作業過程が見れる写真があり、当時の様子が見れてよかった。
