Much of today’s proceedings have remained unchanged from coronations prior, but what did stand out as different was the inclusion of women throughout. Penny Mourdant, a British MP who is not only the Leader of the House of Commons, but also Lord President of the Privy Council, was front and center wielding the 17th-century Sword of State, becoming the first woman to present the priceless artifact to the monarch. She was the one in the teal caped dress with gold leaf embellishments.
