For the occasion of the 2023 Met Gala, which christened the exhibition ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’, the Chloé atelier revived its collaboration with Parisian embroiderer Maison Hurel – building on their mutual savoir-faire in the art of dressmaking. Founded in 1879, Maison Hurel is regarded as one of the most storied textile houses in the history of French luxury fashion, and today it remains an independent enterprise with the fifth generation of the Hurel family at its helm.​

For 60 years, Chloé consistently partnered with Maison Hurel, who are responsible for the arrow motif embroideries of the iconic Lagerfeld-designed shirt dress from the Chloé Autumn-Winter 1983-84 collection. Ahead of the gala, Creative Director @GabrielaHearst took inspiration from this Lagerfeld creation as well as the ‘Brise’, ‘Angkor’ and ‘Aurelien’ dresses he designed for the gowns worn by herself and Chloé’s guests @オリヴィア・ワイルド, @ヴァネッサ・カービー and @maudeapatow. ​
