@ch4ch__’s (aaron) music and lo-fi 3D animations take inspiration from early 2000s video games and analog technology — the perfect fit for each other.

“I've been making beats way longer than anything else, so when I started doing this 3D stuff, I had a ton of unreleased music that finally had a home. The fact that it had an animation now made it resurface to a new audience,” says aaron.

“I always like a little bit of crunchiness in my stuff, whether it be music or 3D. The pixelated look reminds me of the games I grew up playing, but it also functions as a tool to cover up some imperfections in the modeling side of things.

The thrift3d series involves me finding objects in the wild and modeling them in 3D. Being able to capture those memories and interests and turn it into art was one of the first times I felt my work truly reflected me and my life.”
