We’re working on updating our fleet with more fuel-efficient aircraft. For example, on average, our new A220s are 25% more fuel-efficient than the aircraft they replace. 🌎 USING ALTERNATIVE FUELS Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is one of the best resources to move toward a net zero future. We’ve already committed to purchasing 200M gallons of SAF annually by the end of 2030 with a goal to replace 35% of our fuel with SAF by 2035. 🌳 REDUCING OUR IMPACT To help build a more sustainable future, we’re using handcrafted amenity kits created by @someonesomewhere to eliminate 5 single-use plastic items such as zippers and packaging, reducing plastic use by up to 90,000 lbs every year. ♻️ MAKING THE MOST OF RECYCLABLE MATERIALS Our cabins also feature bedding in Delta One made from 100% recycled plastic bottles, reusable and biodegradable service ware and premium canned wine. Together, these products reduce our onboard single-plastic consumption by ~4.9M lbs every year. ⚡ GOING ELECTRIC Our ground service vehicles, which help with different tasks at the airport, like moving baggage, are going electric. Right now, our core vehicles are already up and running in Boston and Salt Lake City, with plans to expand electrification to every Delta hub by 2035.
