The Sakai cutlery industry is a long-standing and highly renowned one, with around 90% of Japan-based professional chefs reportedly using knives made at Sakai factories, here in Osaka.
Members of the public can visit the famed Enami Hamono knife factory and observe the traditional production process, and can also take part in a special knife-making workshop led by an experienced Sakai blacksmith.
