On this day in 1986, Prince recorded the Sign O’ The Times track “Starfish and Coffee” in his home studio in Chanhassen. The lyrics were co-written with his then-fiancée, @susannahmelvoin, and were based on her real-life childhood friend Cynthia Rose.
