All writers need their own individual nib size and matching fountain pen for a smooth writing experience. But did you know what every nib has regardless whether it is made of stainless steel or gold?
A so-called iridium point is placed on each tip of a nib. The iridium point is made mainly of a wolfram-iridium alloy, so that it is a very hard and robust metal. Actually, the iridium is ground on a nib to achieve different nib widths. If you look at your nib and discover a small “ball” under the nib tip, you know what the iridium point is. 😊
