At 59 years old, Norman is still one of the biggest DJs (if not THE biggest) in the country, selling out arenas all over the world with his infectious enthusiasm and dynamic selections. He transcends trends, and exists completely in his own lane of success and shows no signs of stopping…

From going to see his old band Freakpower in Dublin as a teenager to joining the Skint records mailing list and buying all Norman’s records as a budding DJ, Norman’s music has had a huge impact on my life. It was such a pleasure to have an opportunity to sit down and talk through his changes for this episode; I had a LOT of questions…

He spoke of discovering punk as a 14 year old boy frustrated with suburbia, his move from being in bands to DJing, his years of being massively massively famous, dealing with press scrutiny, growing older as a DJ and the dreaded R word (retirement) and as shown above, his decision to make the big and difficult change to sobriety and how that impacted his DJing.
