Today marks Luc’s gotcha day: three years ago today, we picked him up from @koreank9rescue

To us, gotcha day is not just about celebrating the day he was adopted: it’s also a day to think about how we’ve all changed each other. Luc taught us that you can have a difficult start to your life and still choose love and light. He taught us that some things can come naturally: like checking in and protecting the ones you love. He’s taught us that a little patience can yield incredible results and as we learned how to love him in the way that he needs us to love him, we were also reflecting on ourselves. I suppose when people say “our dog rescued us”, this is what they mean. That they teach us how to love each other the way dogs love us: pure, joyful and without judgment.

We love you to the moon and back Luc: just like we whisper into your ear every night, we love you so much and we’re going to look after you forever and ever and ever 💛
