I PR’d on my max weighted hangs today. Training with measurable quantifiable results is important to me. I’m the most competitive person I know, so finding out what my absolute max is and then trying to beat it is how I’ve been able to constantly keep pushing forward.

17.5lbs means technically I should be able to hold a one-arm lock-off at 90° with Sunny… (After he loses about another 3/4 of a pound, he’s on his own fitness journey.) But obviously this is happening soon.

In addition to @athleticbrewing dry January challenge, I spent the last month gathering data with @whoop outside of just strength testing, and was really curious about what the results would show. Since this is a “maxing out” post, sleep and hydration are maximally important when it comes to training and performance. One I’m really good at, and the other pretty bad. It’s been crazy to see the connection from session to session and pinpoint it directly back to a specific thing in terms of recovery. Dry January might be over, but the nerding out over training and recovery data continues, as always.
