I love this transition from Francesco Tristano’s “In The Beginning Was” to Frederic Chopin’s Prelude Op.28 No.1 - Both works were inspired by Johann Sebastian Bach’s Prelude No.1, but they were composed nearly 200 years apart and in very different styles.

By interspersing Chopin’s Preludes Op.28 with seven contemporary pieces for #EchoesOfLife I realized once again how modern, provocative and timeless Chopin’s music is and that our perception of music - especially if it feels old or modern to us - depends so much on the context.
