wrote this one today w @afsheenmusic & it was one i really needed to get off my chest for a while now. i’m just now at 24 starting to process a lot of the trauma i’ve been through in my life, mostly revolving around men. work wise, love wise, you name it. but what i’ve realized is i am not responsible for the way they treated me. their energy is no longer mine to take on because that’s not who I AM. it’s not how i treat people. i have grown to have compassion and empathy for the people that hurt me instead of holding on to anger. my heart is at peace with forgiveness and i feel light most days. these experiences don’t define me, they’re my education and how ive learn to protect myself. but, it has affected me & the body remembers. that’s why i wanted to write this song. this healing process is a never ending journey but one things for sure im happily committed to never stop growing and learning. thank you for letting me vulnerable with you ❤️ it’s all love xo this is “insecure”
