This series captures the raw data— energy stored in our wiring encoded by a lifetime of experiences— of forceful impacts, highs and lows, energetic disruptions and complications, expansions and contractions, vibrations, hopes and traumas, and electrical impulses. The result— a raw schematic of our collective electricity as it changes moment by moment is revealed on the canvas. This series is a collection of 25 works available through @wcc.art in sizes 24x30 - 60x72 To accompany this we collaborated with @liamlynch111 to create a short film. In conceptualizing the idea of translating nervous system electricity into paint, Dave & PADHiA developed the idea of using cross-shaped beds (also on display in our exhibit). Allowing for a motionless state of full body surrender and dissociation from the mind, the subtle frequencies within are the only force able to move the paint. The cross bed symbolizes different things to both of them. For Dave: it signifies turning to isolation— turning away from the world in an attempt at self-soothing. For PADHiA it signifies the surrender of control, of letting life take you and have its way with you. In many moments of our lives, things can feel all-consuming and grip us on a deep level electrically. But as we zoom out and we gain a view of the grand picture… we may just realize that something mysterious and beautiful is translating through us… we may see something that makes us smile.
