Dear lord. Friend of mine sent me this—my first on-camera gig. Charlemagne Moody (but call me Charlie or there will be fisticuffs) on One Life to Live. Early 90s. I was fresh out of school. Pretty sure I cut my own hair. $700 for each episode, one episode a month, seemed obscene and I kept the cash in a stack on the top shelf of the dish cabinet in my studio apartment in the east village. I’d open the cupboard door and just look at it, wishing I didn’t have to spend it. Classmate of mine from NYU on the left— Stan Cahill —played big brother, and Casper Van Dien played the youngest. We were there to protect our sister Luna, played by Susan Batten. Don’t know where everyone is now but I had fun, and clearly took advantage of the practical cake at the reception. Headed to San Francisco to play Prior Walter in Angels in America shortly after this. Halcyon times.
