Without doubt a key breakthrough moment in my career so far was my first world record at the 2015 British World Championship Trials. I remember my coach Mel trying her best to keep me calm and focussed before the race, especially as it was delayed by over half and hour which didn’t help the nerves. To take over half a second of the existing record and be the first person to swim sub-58 seconds for the 100mbreaststroke was a total shock, but it showed me – and everybody else – what I was capable of.
