When I start riding bmx at 4yrs old that never thought this two wheels brings me this far where I am today as a person… As I said in a “docu” that I supposed to be retired after the Olympics last month. But I was in the one of the best shape ever and there is another big race at the one of my favorite country in the Netherlands so why not to keep going! Unfortunately I crashed 1/8 final and my bmx race career has come to an end, but be honest I wasn’t sad at all… I felt like I reached my limit in BMX and can’t improve any more… Everyone is just so fast and strong. I did my one of the best performance at the Olympics ended up with 17th place which is made me like that’s it… actually the other way of feeling as I said in a “Docu” that I retire bmx. It wasn’t easy for me to based in Europe to keep racing bmx, especially foundations wise was very hard when I was 18 but I could live full time athlete since then I had a lot of help that I can’t mention everyone… Level of BMX race in Asia was by far behind about 10yrs ago, but I wanted to be the guy who can show the potential of Asian and give the passion to who rides their BMX in Asia. Happy to see the Indonesians Jr women leading their heat at the world champs last weekend… that was something I’ve never seen it before… Anyway I won’t stop riding bmx, at least I’ll still keep racing for next generation that is what I can do, and I will be full time track cyclist, that is my passion as well. Looking forward to the next chapter and some of the KEY I learnt from @niekkimmann while I was interviewing for the “Docu” also learnt a lot of things from @wcc_cycling specially last couple years from my coach @liamphillips65 and @masahirosampei, teammate @simonmarquart179 @saehatakeyama @zoeclaessenss @einarlindberg The documentary we made that is my treasure forever my life time.
