you might remember that last summer we released a special LGBTQ+ version of “Boyfriend” on @bandcamp for ONE day only and donated all of the proceeds to the @trevorproject. this year for pride, we decided to put that special version up on streaming services for you guys because i know some of you missed out on it! link in bio. 
 
the story goes like this: last year, the internet informed me that this song is considered a bit of an anthem to a lot of people in the LGBTQ+ community. the original song is about me pining over a boy in an incredibly unhealthy way and because of this, i’ve grown to really dislike the song and also performing it. finding out it had a different meaning to the queer community excited me and i wanted to find a fun way to give back. soooo, we went over to our dear pal @musicfriend’s house and recorded this inclusive version of “Boyfriend.” hope you listen to it this summer with your boo or whoever you wish was your boo.
