Going through old videos today and stopped on this one. I’d forgotten about my High School. This was our assembly opening at my public High School in Edmonton in 1994. Students had no dress or makeup codes for boys or girls, you were who you were. US school systems can truly go fuck themselves for how they treat LGBTQIA+ students. I am still startled by the comments I read, and the injustices students have to tolerate. I hope my old High School is still supporting students in all their diversity and I pray to the fucking gods that more schools will make space for everyone- like we were doing twenty-seven years ago, at a high school in Edmonton.
