But remember their big smiles as they paddled out and surfed that morning. A contrast to some of the stoic “serious surf face” we see in the lineup most days. As most of you know, I spend most mornings on or around the pier. Yesterday I didn’t...but started getting tagged on a post by @blacksand.surf detailing an verbal assault from a racist surfer on the north side of the pier, my heart sank. I pinched, zoomed sent the post around to friends, we didn’t recognize the guy in question...but did notice the two surfers who were the target of the vitriol...I recognized them from these photos a couple months early. Sent them a quick DM with the photos and my support, our support. That surfer does not represent us, who we are and where we are going. Show the guys @blacksand.surf some love. Unity. Peace.
