You should never be forced to choose between your health, or your family’s health, and your paycheck. Not during a pandemic, not ever. And if everyone was able to stay home when they or their family got sick? We could end this pandemic a LOT sooner. Forcing workers — especially women — to choose between their families and their paychecks is not new. And the strain is disproportionately placed on women of color, who are more likely to work at essential jobs but less likely to have access to paid leave. In December alone, over 154,000 WOC left the workforce. It's time to fix that. This pandemic has made it clearer than ever that we need universal paid leave.
