Curator Roxana Marcoci urges everyone to experience #CarrieMaeWeems's photographic installation, "From Here I Saw What Happened and I Cried," on view in our second-floor collection galleries, finding “a space where we can reflect and reckon with the history of our nation.”

This Tuesday, Feb. 2, our latest Forum on Contemporary Photography, co-organized by @roxanamarcoci and @sarahelizabethlewis1, will pay tribute to @carriemaeweems in celebration of the exhibition and a forthcoming anthology. Speakers include: the artist, @jenny_blessing, @kimberlyjuanitabrown, Huey Copeland, @thelmagolden, @gundaggie, Robin Kelsey, @carriejlb, @thomaslas, Sarah E. Lewis, @richardj.powell, and @debwillisphoto. The event will be available to watch on our YouTube channel the following week.
