Well, firstly the late producer Steve Golin had agreed to come and talk, but then potentially Laura Dern (who I had not actually met at this point) was going to join too, but wasn’t 100 percent sure she could make it. I didn’t know she was actually coming until the credits rolled and my ace publicist @gregorylongstreet told me she was 5 minutes away. We started the Q&A and then I saw the curtains to the back entrance twitch, so I confidently said ‘A special surprise everyone, here’s Miss Laura Dern’! Laura came out to rapturous applause from a stunned audience, as I had not mentioned she was coming. Then she sprung a surprise on me and said ‘I brought a friend with me who also worked on the film’. And from behind the curtain to the back entrance walks one David Lynch. The audience went completely nuts, but I was both floored & terrified as I was about to do an impromptu interview with him that I had not prepped for! Once I had got through my starstruck, tongue tied first question, it all went well. Thanks to Laura, David and the sadly no longer with us Steve Golin for a most memorable night at the cinema.
