I felt I should share this from a few years back from @warrevolt as I'm seeing a continued push for Change the Date this year. I ask anyone whom follows this page to not support a change of date , but to continue to lobby for an Abolishment of Australia Day. The genocide is ongoing in this land and I find it very distressing the thought that there should be set aside any day to celebrate the destruction of our peoples and sacred land . Until so called Australia acknowledges and attempts to address its heinous foundation and right its wrongs done to our people and lands appropriately , I cannot get behind anything about this so called nation, let alone celebrating it. Also lest we forget Australia was founded on the precedent that we as Indigenous People where subhuman and therefore our custodianship of land should be immediately dismissed. The colony literally called this no man's land- #terranullius . Meaning we were considered not human. Please ponder that for a second and furthermore to that the fact we weren't acknowledged as human until enormous lobbying took place for that to occur in 1967. Again. Abolishment of Australia Day entirely is how I feel. This is how I will continue to feel.
