A nostalgic landscape secluded deep in the mountains, away from the rest of the world.

Ginzan Onsen is located in the mountains, 12 kilometers from the Oshu Highway, and is a sacred place cut off from the rest of the world. It was popular as a therapeutic hot spring resort, but in 1913, the Ginzan River flooded, destroying the hot spring resort, and all the inns were rebuilt with western-style wooden buildings of three to four stories.
The town strives to preserve the streetscape of a time when "Spirited Away" bathhouses were not uncommon in Japan.
