Our founder Vahap Avsar designed this logo from the factory rooftop in 1996. From the corner of North 9th Street and Wythe Ave, the view looked North over Queens to Manhattan. He chose industrial colors- burgundy, orange, black- bold choices. The first t-shirts were designed for skater kids hanging around the abandoned warehouses. BKI was born.
