On Christmas Eve, Italians eat way too much seafood/food. My very Italian parents earnestly maintained this tradition, same as the rest of our family in Canada and back in Italy. For the last few years of my Dad’s life, I took over preparing his baked oyster recipe. This year was my first without his subtle coaching - and being away from Mom this Christmas, here in California, I fucked up some other Neapolitan specialties too. Also, my girlfriend baked the greatest apple pie of all time (since her last and until her next). I hope whatever holiday traditions you observe helped you to feel normal during this abnormal year. :D
