I’d heard stories but never imagined them to be true. At least not entirely. I still can’t believe it happened. It couldn’t have been the milk, we only had a few glasses each. Though I will say, I knew from the moment he sat down on my couch and removed his mask (red velvet, in case you were wondering) that his visit had nothing to do with Christmas. The tension was simply unbearable. What was he doing here? What did he want? I had to break the ice somehow. I joked that I had the same boots and wiped a cookie crumb off of his bottom lip. He laughed. In person, his laugh looked different than you’d think. Naughtier. He complimented the fit of my dress and mentioned that his wife had one just like it. I‘ve seen his wife. There’s no way she owns a dress like this. Besides, he was the one that knocked on my trailer door. His visit caught me off guard to say the least but what surprised me the most was that he *wanted* to be there. It’s hard to imagine someone so powerful taking interest in a lowly TV actress like myself but when the magic is there, it’s there. I’ll never forget the tickle of his beard or the warmth of his round, cookie-filled belly. What he was doing in Atlanta days before Christmas, I’ll never know. Wild as it sounds, I like to think he made the pit stop just for me. After all, I had been a pretty good girl this year. At least by his standards. My god, who’d a thunk it. December 18, 2020.
