I know I sound like a broken record but since it’s the holiday season please continue to shop small. I have a list of places that is not food related that I want to share and @eastvillagehats is on that list. 👒🎩 I’ve never been one to wear hats. As a child my dolls had hats and my mom tried to get me to wear hats and I stubbornly always say no. As an adult I discovered the art of millinery. I stumbled upon a shop that sold beautiful handmade pieces for hats, appliqué for accessories as well as vintage florals used for hats. Since I didn’t wear hats I taught myself to take apart some of the vintage florals and add them as accents on a holiday package. Instead of dressing up hats to wear, I dressed up holiday gifts. Seeing this shop brought back memories for me...memories of such a unique craft that is almost rare these days. You see hat shops but you seldom see handmade on premises hat shops anymore. The shop uses blocks (hat molds ) that dates back 25 years. They even use a sewing machine dating back to the industrial revolution.
