As the keynote speaker on the first day of our recent Food Justice Webinar Series in the outdoor pavilion of the Edible Academy, Karen Washington, NYBG Trustee, farmer, and activist, asked us to "... come together to fight the injustices we see, and to fight to end hunger and poverty."

Washington joined a number of speakers from local food organizations to discuss the coordinated community response to food insecurity in the Bronx since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and to recognize the history and contribution of Bronx community gardens through her lens as a long-time activist.
