We take it for granted until it is taken away from us. Although this year is not over, I have been looking back these last few days and reflecting on it. Never in my wildest dreams could I have envisioned this, and although it has been the least externally successful year for me, it has made me look within and grow. Although I haven’t been able to compete much, I have taken the opportunity to grow in other areas and do things I always wished for like learning to play the piano and painting. I have been able to spend a lot of time with my family, I have reunited with childhood friends and made new ones as well. I have valued people even more that I love dearly whether I speak with them everyday or not. I have had a few lessons along the way that I had to overcome. I have learnt to be more patient and grow closer to who I truly am. I have enjoyed being in my home country and remembering how beautiful it is (and how good the food tastes).
