CDW社員による「私を変えた旅」シリーズ今回は第2回目。山本の旅行日記から！

『五感を刺激するコルシカ島』
コルシカ島の地面に足をつけた瞬間、足裏からドクドクと力強いエネルギーが注入される感覚を覚えた。まるで地球の核の部分からマグマが体に流れ込んでくるような衝撃的な感覚。
.
その後に嗅覚を刺激したのは、マキ（Maquis）と呼ばれる潅木地帯に生い茂るサリエット（きだちはっか）、オリーブ、ローズマリー、タイム、など地中海特有の植物の野性的な香り、そしてこれらの花から蜂が採取して作られた、これまた野性的な味の「マキの蜂蜜」山歩きをしていると、どこからともなく山羊のチーズの香りがたちこめ、林の中で山羊達にバッタリ出会い、海辺の散歩では砂浜でくつろぐ放牧牛の群れに遭遇したり。
巨石記念物でも知られるコルシカ島の建築物は、山深い土地でも海岸でも石造の建築物が長い歴史と共に、まるで実直で頑固なコルシカ人気質と同様、崩れそうになってもしっかり足を踏ん張って建っている。

帰路マルセイユへ向かうフェリーの中で、渡船前にバスティアで調達したコルシカ産のワイン、生ハム、コルシカで唯一のAOCを認められている「ブロッチョ」チーズをバゲットと一緒にいただきながら、味覚だけはコルシカを後にしても刺激され続けていた！私に「自然との共生」を教えてくれたコルシカ島は、武骨で荒々しい情熱的な自然エネルギーに満ち溢れていた。

The moment I landed in Corsica, I felt strong energy pouring through my feet as if magma was coming from the core of the earth – what a sensational feeling!
.
Then comes strong fragrance of Maquis (The Corsican scrubland) and honey from Maquis that has distinct flavour. When I walked in the mountains, I smelt strong goat cheese and there they were - pasturing goats in the forest! When I walked on the beach, I encountered pasturing cattle relaxing on the beach! Corsica is famous for gigantic stone made architects.
Decaying stone buildings are still holding in the mountains and in the sea looking like stubborn Corsicans!

On my ferry ride to Marseilles I enjoyed Corsican wines, ham, goat cheese with baguette. My palate was still stimulated by Corsican food even after I left the island! Corsica that taught me how to co-exist with nature is full of wild and passionate energy of the nature.
