The Dextre robot on the International Space Station is currently testing out new tools! 🤖🛠️
This week, NASA's Satellite Servicing Projects Division’s (aka NExIS) Robotic Refueling Mission 3 (RRM3) is carrying out its second set of operations! Dextre will use two tools on the RRM3 module, which is currently affixed to the outside of the station.
RRM3 is developing the tools and techniques needed for transferring cryogenic fluids, which can be used as propellants, coolants, or for life-support systems. These technologies can enable spacecraft to live longer and journey farther, and they could play an important role in the exploration of our solar system and beyond.
