Aloha! (Kind of a wordy post, but worth it - i hope.)

With the news that Hawai’i is reopening for visitors last week I felt the need to not only share some of my favorite photos of one of my favorite places. But I also wanted to take the opportunity to share some words on what Hawai’i means to me and add some perspective for those of you that are looking to visit and get the most out of their time.

.
I have been lucky enough to visit the Islands pretty regularly. From the hospitality of one of my favorite clients, Four Seasons, to sharing party waves in town with Keyanna and swimming with turtles in Makaha with the Keaulanas, from being alone for a spiritual 3 am Kīlauea visit from Pele to paddling off Maui with Travis, Jimmy and the crew in Wailea. All these people and this land have a special place in my heart.

It was Jack London who said “In what other land but this one is the greeting not 'Good day,' nor 'How do you do…but 'Love'? That greeting is 'Aloha': love, I love you, my love to you... It is a positive affirmation of the warmth of one's own heart-giving.”

The Aloha spirit is alive and well on the Islands, but you must give before you can receive. This is my plea to you while you’re booking that family trip or baby moon, Respect the land and the people who call it home and I am a living testament that you will get that back 10x.

So as we mainlanders pack up our huge rolling suitcases full of fresh bathing suits and Mai Tai dreams, please remember that Aloha spirit goes both ways.

.
If you’ve read this far, then you might just make it to my 10th frame where I posted a 60 second video from one of my favourite visits to the Islands back in ‘15.

Much Love, Much Aloha 🤙🏼
