My acting coach from @royalacademyofdramaticart @dee.actingcoach has passed away far too young and far too soon. Dee was a fierce visionary, an artistic mentor and a beloved friend. Her brand was one of tough love but her pursuit of truth and excellence is unrivaled. Every day I wanted to do better for Dee, rise to the challenge of finding the “truth” in every role or project. She was the first person to teach me to never settle or be content in pursuing artistic truth but to be active and pro-active in always looking for more- more detail, more nuance, more believe-ability. I am truly saddened for this loss not just for me but for the future generations of actors who won’t know first hand what a gift it was to be taught by such a trailblazer. It was one of the biggest thrills of my early career to have Dee work with me on professional projects in LA together after training together in London. She always made me believe I could do and be better and for that I want to send her the biggest, most heart felt Thank-you. You helped shape my career, my understanding of acting and at times even though I might not have liked it at the time my understanding of myself. The world needs more great teachers and people like Dee. I miss her deeply and send my love and condolences to her family and loved ones. Respect and love the teachers and mentors who shape your life and career.
