壁面の赤いランプは日本の国旗「日の丸」に模しているかのよう。この写真の意図は、建物が建設物であるように、国民国家というイデオロギーが建設物であることのメタファーを構成している。

For my DISPOSABLES exhibition at KG+, a selection of photos feature QR codes that take viewers through to an online exhibition giving more background behind the work, which is essentially an ongoing study of Japanese national and cultural identity.

The red lamp on the side of a wall resembles the Japanese 'Hino Maru' national flag. My intention with this photo is to create a metaphor for a nation-state's ideologies being a construct, just as a building is a construct—the architecture of meaning.
