Have you seen all the benches lining the parks walkway? It’s remarkable and I think last fall I started to really notice and find myself captured in reading the plaques. It’s not simply a plaque that is in memory of a loved one who passed...but a story. Yes, a story, a poem, a quote, a marriage proposal, a birth announcement, a dream written on an approx 2” x 5.5” plaque. It’s absolutely beautiful! So last Thursday when I was illustrating this video to welcome Autumn I sent a message to the NYC Parks to get information on adopting a bench. Once I had all the info, I set up an account, separate from my everyday account and will be contributing x amount from my work funds towards my bench adoption. I look forward to one day sending my donation to help the parks and able to write my own story on a plaque, on a bench, and be a part of the pages in a story book. Keep your fingers crossed 🤞🏻 for me...don’t hold your breath, it may be awhile...but fingers crossed that I can achieve this commitment that’s so special and exciting to me personally. ❤️ When that day comes...I’ll share the news! 😁 I’ve been more focused on ways I can contribute. Whether it’s my daily post sharing a business, random acts of kindness and now gearing to support a park I love. They may be little to some, not so little to others, but for me, my contribution big or small comes from the heart and it gives me a sense of purpose that is far more rewarding than anything really.
