When it comes to carbon in our atmosphere, #agriculture has a superpower. Or, more specifically, plants do. Plants take in #carbon during photosynthesis and redistribute it in the soil through their roots. This means that farming can actually remove carbon from the atmosphere. And if farmers use #climatesmart practices like cover cropping and reduced or zero tillage, they keep that carbon locked underground, where it can nourish the soil and protect the environment instead of escaping to build up in the atmosphere.
Our new business model aims to foster these practices on a broad scale by rewarding #farmers for the carbon they store on their farms. This way, they can feed our global population at the same time as helping to reverse #climatechange.
