Staff member Ashley chose the door fittings from the Balawat Gates, made 858–824 BC, as the object he is most looking forward to seeing when back in the galleries. The towering gates stood over 6 metres tall, and were made for buildings in the ancient Assyrian city of Balawat (Imgur-Enlil).
