Our knight in cardboard armor has arrived! ⚔️
We're absolutely blown away by this #MetTwinning recreation by @jeanniemacl and @morganmarena of George Clifford, Third Earl of Cumberland's 16th-century armor garniture from @metarmsandarmor. 🛡️
#FunFact: George Clifford wore this armor when he was appointed Queen Elizabeth's Champion, an important position at the royal English court. 👑
🎨 Made under the direction of Jacob Halder (British, documented in England 1558–1608). Armor Garniture of George Clifford, Third Earl of Cumberland, 1586. Steel, gold, leather, textile. #MetAnywhere
