Photo by @giles_price As part of a conceptual series of images shot on assignment during the COVID-19 pandemic, I’ve used a thermal camera to examine what daily life currently looks like with restrictions placed on ordinary events and new routines becoming our everyday. One such example is a daily temperature check using thermal technology. Here, a worker on a Laing O’Rourke construction project in Olympia, London, has his temperature taken in a purpose-built modular screening unit at the front entrance of the site. The camera automatically scans his face to find the inner canthus/tear duct of the eye, as this is the only place on the face to register an accurate body temperature reading.
