ダンクの歴史は、大学のバスケットボールコートから始まった。ブームのきっかけとなったのは、注目を集めるチーム向けにカラーコーディネートされた1985年のシューズ。今回、このシルエットの35周年を記念して、ダンクが現代のトッププログラムを称えるべく、同じテーマで登場。ユニバーシティオレンジのアッパーとマリーンのオーバーレイを組み合わせたバージョンでは、男子の大学バスケットボールの最近の優勝チームをイメージしている。
