スキャパレリさんのインスタグラム写真 - (スキャパレリInstagram)「1931. This year marks the beginning of the Maison’s collaborations with Jean-Michel Frank, starting with the unexpected “boat set” for Schiaparelli’s boutique at 4 rue de la Paix. To match the innovative and daring Schiaparelli fashion on offer in the store, Frank created a space with a nautical look. The store was transformed into a boat using black wooden furniture and black curtains that resembled leather. Scarves, belts and sweaters hung from ropes, and a bright green and blue map featured on the white walls. The unexpected design duo had already worked together back in 1928, when the eccentric Schiaparelli chose the modernist Jean-Michel Frank, the most acclaimed interior designer at the time, to decorate her private apartments in Boulevard Saint Germain and rue Barbet-de-Jouy. After the boat-inspired boutique, the next breathtaking interior project that Frank collaborated on with Schiaparelli was the iconic salons at Place Vendome in 1935. A pure white space, the Salons have been described as “the absolute silence of true luxury”. Frank brought life to Place Vendôme by mixing monochrome leather, waxed parchment wall panelling, straw veneers and glazed plasters, with his renowned exclusively crafted furniture. Several of Frank’s custom-made designs still exist today in the Schiaparelli Salons, including the famous ashtray resting on a twisted foot, painted in white and gold. #espritSchiap #Schiaparelliandtheartists Credits : 1.
