What happened is unfortunate, but at the end of the day, our losses are restricted to a store filled with product that can be replaced. Thankfully, we can walk away from this situation knowing that we can repair and rebuild, and that most importantly, no one was hurt. What has become explicitly clear is that the black community is not, and has never been so lucky in situations of racial injustice, police brutality, and systemic racism embedded in everyday life. We want to remind you all of something very important. We must not let distractions change the message, the narrative, or the focus. Please continue to stay focused on what you’re fighting for – equality and racial justice for Black Lives. Do not let those who take advantage of our pain, our struggles, our grief, or our fear profit from this. If we do, then we are playing into the hands of who we are fighting against.
