Forgive the paraphrasing but here is some of what she said. “Here’s the thing - I’m tired, I’m exhausted. I appreciate them but I’m tired of getting texts from my wife’s white friends saying “thinking of you” “I hear you”. That’s great, I appreciate it and I’m not discounting them at all but you don’t just get to drop that off and then go about your life and feel good about yourself. The Civil War - we know all about the racists and the white supremacists on the south side, but where’s all the people on the north side. I’m telling you right now - I’m not marching. You can’t ask us to fix something when we are the victims. Its not our problem. I’m sick of seeing - I can’t see my proud black beautiful young people out there putting their lives on the line and getting tased and pepper sprayed. No - you gotta fix your problem. You all gotta step up. I don’t wanna see another march led by black people. I need good white people I need white people who are on the side of the north. Your texts don’t mean shit.
