The events that occurred last week have shocked and saddened me immensely and what upsets me more is that he’s not the only one. Ahmaud Arbery - was gunned down whilst going for a run in his neighbourhood. Breonna Taylor - was in her home when police forcefully entered and shot her 8 times. It was the wrong home, the person they were actually looking for was already in custody. George Floyd - arrested on suspicion of using a counterfeit $20 bill. The officer, Derek Chauvin, knelt on George Floyd’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds and killed him. The above have been the topic of social media/news for quite some time, however there are many many more cases like this that aren’t covered. This happens every day to people just because of the colour of their skin. I understand that I don’t understand and that I most likely never will, I have the privilege of white privilege and I will use that to speak up for those that don’t. You should do the same! I wish that I could protest but I can’t. So I will do what I can from home... and you should too.
