For the past weeks, I've felt incredibly uncomfortable. If you're also white/white passing, you should know what I'm talking about.
Growing up in America, Racism is imbued into us. Our history books in school are biased and full of half-truths. The media shows a disproportionate amount of Black criminals, so any developing mind that watches begins to associate [Black] with [Criminal]. Legislature has covertly and intentionally targeted the Black community since the Civil Rights movement. If you don't believe me, watch "13th" on Netflix.

It's time for me to accept that I am indeed Racist. The word has been associated with such an extreme image for my whole life that it's been a slow process to relearn the definition it has today. I am a member of the oppressing race, and I've chosen to remain silent. That is an act of support for oppression, a vote for the status quo.
Uncomfortable starts to seem like an understatement.

More to come.
