Today's scale is Phrigian,
this is also kind of minor.

The difference between Phrigian mode to natural minor scale
is 2nd note.

Usually 2nd goes natural but 2nd goes flat in Phrigian mode.

When you start from 3nd note of C major scale, it's same as E Phrigian.

Usually this scale fits over Ⅲm7 chords.

We have some scales for spanish music too,
but you can get a bit melancholic and spanish feeling easily by using Phrigian.
