«If it’s too perfect, it’s of no interest to me because it lacks character» Koen Ghesquière, artisan et fondateur de l’atelier de céramique anversois @ghesqceramics définit la beauté de ses créations par leur singularité et leur irrégularité. Chaque pièce est unique grâce à un travail organique, guidé par l’argile et la lumière. La production est conservée en interne et tous les articles sont fabriqués à la main. Les céramiques sont brutes, leurs couleurs parfois inattendues, offrant un caractère exceptionnel à chacune d’elles. La liberté créative de l’artiste prend son origine à Ostende et dans le Sud de la France, et suivent des techniques de fabrications diverses, notamment le Raku, une technique de poterie japonaise permettant d’obtenir un effet craquelé.

Each piece is unique thanks to an organic work, guided by clay and light. Production is kept in-house and all items are handmade. The ceramics are raw, their colours sometimes unexpected, offering an exceptional character to each of them.
