8月29日（木）、オーストラリア大陸南東部に位置する第2の都市であるメルボルンに、オーストラリア旗艦店 MUJI CHADSTONEがオーストラリア最大の売場面積をもってオープンしました。

2013年に、同ショッピングセンター内にオーストラリア1号店としてオープンし、無印良品のファンを育ててきましたが、この度移転増床をして新たなスタートを切りました。オーストラリア国内最大級の品揃えに加え、新しいサービスもたくさん導入し、無印良品が考える「感じ良いくらし」を実感いただける店舗環境を整えています。

メルボルンを象徴する路面電車、フェリー、郵便箱などを再現した地元のおもちゃを店内に用意し、子供たちが遊びながらメルボルンの美しい街並みを学べる空間を用意しています。また、メルボルン周辺のおすすめスポットを紹介するコーナー「Melbourne to Go」には、店舗スタッフとお客様から提案したおすすめスポットの情報を掲載しており、お客様、地域の方たちとのコミュニケーションを通じてメルボルンの魅力を発信しています。地元のロースターと提携したコーヒーステーションも設置し、お客様がお買い物の合い間にひと息つける空間となっています。

On Thursday August 29th, Australian flagship store MUJI CHADSTONE has opened in Melbourne with a sales floor space of 1711.39㎡, making it the largest MUJI store in Australia.

In 2013, MUJI opened its first store in Australia in the same shopping mall, and has been increasing MUJI fans ever since. The opening of this MUJI CHADSTONE flagship store after expansion and relocation marked a new start. In addition to its the largest assortment of the MUJI items in Australia, this store also introduces many new services, aiming to provide an environment in which the customers can experience MUJI’s idea of “a Simple, Pleasant life”.

The store provides locally sourced toys which capture the essence of Melbourne City – for example, the iconic tram, ferry and post box – to encourage children to learn about the beauty of Melbourne City while playing. In addition, Melbourne to Go, a dedicated corner in the store that provides insightful information collected from our staff and customers on “must-do” activities in Melbourne, is delivering the charm of Melbourne through communication with customers and the local community. The in-store coffee station, which uses coffee beans from a local roaster, provides customers a place to take a break and enjoy a cup of coffee while shopping.
